Two subject areas at LUMS have been highly ranked by The Times.

Lancaster University has climbed to 9th position in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, to achieve its elite target of top ten positions in all the UK’s major university league tables. Lancaster also ranks 9th in the Complete University Guide and 8th in the Guardian.

In the individual subject rankings, Lancaster was rated 2nd for Accounting and Finance and 5th for Business Management.

Steve Young, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, said: "The department has a long history of cutting-edge research, high quality teaching, and innovative programme design that delivers successful career outcomes for graduates. This result reflects the commitment of staff and students to excellence in all areas, and serves to further strengthen Lancaster’s reputation as a UK leader in accounting and finance education."

LUMS Dean Professor Angus Laing said:"Reaching the Top 10 in all major UK league tables is a fantastic achievement, recognising the great work taking place right across the University including in the Management School. It’s great to see that our focus on achieving excellence in all our activities within LUMS is having a direct impact on reinforcing Lancaster’s place amongst the UK’s elite universities."
